YCT Writing Prep Lessons Level 1

  • Designed for kids who have little to no prior experience in learning Chinese, particularly children who are new to the language and have never studied it before.
  • We will learn the topics like Greetings, Self-Introduction, Family Members, Animals, Talking about the Time, Dates, Hobbies and so on. Each class will have matching exercises. After learning to a certain extent, we will do mock and real test paper, focus on intensive practice, check leakage fill a vacancy, so that you can get high marks in one go.
  • After completion of this level, kids will have learned about 80 commonly used vocabulary words and some simple sentence patterns. They can understand and use simple greetings, numbers, colors, time, and other basic vocabulary, and can engage in simple communication and expression.

The test lasts about 35 minutes (including 5 minutes for candidates to fill in their personal information).

1. Listening

Part I consists of 5 questions. Each question is played twice. A picture is provided on the test paper, and the candidate should judge whether it's correct or not based on what they hear.
Part II consists of 5 questions. Each question is played twice. Three pictures are provided on the test paper for each phrase, and the candidate should choose the corresponding picture based on what they hear.
Part III consists of 5 questions. Each question is played twice. A picture is provided on the test paper for each sentence, and the candidate should judge whether it's correct or not based on what they hear.
Part IV consists of 5 questions. Each question is played twice. Three pictures are provided on the test paper for each dialogue, and the candidate should choose the corresponding picture based on what they hear.

2. Reading

Part I consists of 5 questions. Each question provides a picture and a word, and the candidate needs to judge if they match.
Part II consists of 5 questions. Each question provides a sentence and several pictures on the test paper. The candidate should choose the corresponding picture based on the sentence.
Part III consists of 5 questions. Each question provides a picture and an incomplete dialogue, with 6 options provided on the test paper. The candidate is required to choose the answer.

Pinyin is provided for all questions on the test paper.

II. Score Report

YCT scores are valid for a long time. The YCT (Level 1) score report provides three scores: listening, reading, and total score. A total score of 120 points is required to pass.
