Blind Men and the Elephant

"盲人摸象" (Máng rén mō xiàng), or "Blind Men and the Elephant," is an ancient fable that originated in ancient India. The story tells of a group of blind men encountering an elephant for the first time. Each man touches a different part of the elephant and then describes what they believe the elephant looks like based on their feelings. One blind man, who touches the elephant's leg, thinks it's like a tree trunk, another who touches the elephant's ear believes it's like a large fan, and yet another who feels the elephant's tail describes it as a rope.
