YCT Speaking Prep Lessons (Intermediate Level)

  • Designed for learners who have a certain foundation in Chinese, can engage in simple Chinese conversations, and want to further improve their Chinese oral expression ability. 
  • You will accquire about 400 common words and phrases.
  • After you finish this level, your oral expression ability will be further improved, and their comprehensive application ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese will also be enhanced. They will be able to engage in daily conversations fluently, describe complex situations, and express themselves effectively.

The YCT speaking test (Intermediate level) is divided into three parts, with a total of 14 questions.

The entire exam takes about 19 minutes (including 10 minutes of preparation time).

Part I consists of 10 questions. Each question plays a sentence, and the candidate repeats it once after listening.

Part II consists of 2 questions. Each question provides a picture, and the candidate speaks a paragraph in conjunction with the picture.

Part III consists of 2 questions. The paper provides two questions (with pinyin), and the candidate answers them.

II. Score Report

The YCT speaking test (Intermediate level) has a full score of 100 points, with 60 points being the passing score.
