Every year, we have winter and summer vacations or other holidays. Are you planning to travel? Today, we will learn how to discuss vacation plans and share travel experiences in Chinese through a complete dialogue. These sentences are very practical and easy to remember!

Key Characters

  • 小明 (xiǎo míng): Just returned from vacation.

Dialogue: How Was Your Vacation?

小华: 小明,听说你刚度假回来?你的假期怎么样?  
         xiǎo míng, tīng shuō nǐ gāng dù jià huí lái? nǐ de jià qī zěn me yàng?  
         Ming, I heard you just came back from vacation? How was your holiday?

小明: 棒极了!我去了云南,那里的风景美得不得了!  
         bàng jí le! wǒ qùle yún nán, nà lǐ de fēng jǐng měi dé bù dé liǎo! 
         It was awesome! I went to Yunnan, the scenery there was incredibly beautiful!

小华: 真羡慕你!你都去了哪些景点?  
         zhēn xiàn mù nǐ! nǐ dōu qù le nǎ xiē jǐng diǎn?  
         I'm so jealous! Which tourist attractions did you go to?

小明: 我们参观了丽江古城,还爬了玉龙雪山。  
         wǒ men cān guān le lì jiāng gǔ chéng, hái pá le yù lóng xuě shān.  
         We visited the Old Town of Lijiang and also climbed the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.

小华: 听起来太棒了!天气好吗?  
         tīng qǐ lái tài bàng le! tiān qì hǎo ma? 
         That sounds great! Was the weather good?

小明: 大部分时间是晴天,很舒服。只是在丽江那天下了一点小雨。  
         dà bù fèn shí jiān shì qíng tiān, hěn shū fu. zhǐ shì zài lì jiāng nà tiān xià le yī diǎn xiǎo yǔ.  
         It was sunny most of the time, very comfortable. It's just that it drizzled a little in Lijiang that day.

小华: 你最喜欢哪一部分?  
         nǐ zuì xǐ huān nǎ yī bù fèn?  
         What part did you like the most?

小明: 我最喜欢在洱海边骑自行车,感觉非常放松。  
         wǒ zuì xǐ huān zài ěr hǎi biān qí zì xíng chē, gǎn jué fēi cháng fàng sōng.  
         I liked cycling by the Erhai Lake the most, it felt very relaxing.

小华: 下次我也想去。你有什么建议吗?  
         xià cì wǒ yě xiǎng qù. nǐ yǒu shé me jiàn yì ma?  
         I want to go next time. Do you have any suggestions?

小明: 我建议你最好避开国庆节这样的高峰期,人太多了!  
         wǒ jiàn yì nǐ zuì hǎo bì kāi guó qìng jié zhè yàng de gāo fēng qī, rén tài duō le!  
         I suggest you'd better avoid the peak season like National Day, it's too crowded!

小华: 好的,谢谢你的建议!欢迎回来!  
         hǎo de, xiè xiè nǐ de jiàn yì! huān yíng huí lái!
